Aladdin is a 2019 American musical fantasy film directed by Guy Ritchie, who co-wrote the screenplay with John August. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, it is a live-action adaptation of Disney's 1992 animated film of the same name, which was based on the eponymous Middle-Eastern folktale from the One Thousand and One Arabian Nights.[1] The film stars Mena Massoud, Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, and Billy Magnussen. The film follows Aladdin, a street urchin, who finds a magic lamp and must use it to win over Princess Jasmine and defeat the conspiring vizier Jafar.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (also known as John Wick: Chapter 3 or simply John Wick 3) is a 2019 American neo-noir action thriller film starring Keanu Reeves as the titular character. It is the third installment in the John Wick film series, following John Wick (2014) and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017). The film is directed by Chad Stahelski[4] and written by Derek Kolstad, Shay Hatten, Chris Collins, and Marc Abrams, based on a story by Kolstad. It also stars Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, and Ian McShane. In the film, ex-hitman John Wick finds himself on the run from legions of assassins after a $14 million contract is put on his head.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu is a 2019 urban fantasy mystery film directed by Rob Letterman, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit and Derek Connolly, from a story by Hernandez, Samit and Nicole Perlman. Based on the Pokémon franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri and the 2016 video game Detective Pikachu,[4] the film is produced by Legendary Pictures, in association with Toho. It is the first live action entry in the franchise.[5] The film stars Ryan Reynolds as the voice and facial motion capture of the titular character, with Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Suki Waterhouse, Omar Chaparro, Chris Geere, Ken Watanabe and Bill Nighy in live-action roles.
Filming for Pokémon Detective Pikachu took place from January to May 2018 in Colorado, England, and Scotland. It was released in Japan on May 3, 2019,[6][7] and in the United States on May 10, 2019, distributed by Warner Bros. Entertainment in RealD 3D and Dolby Cinema.[8] It is the first Pokémon film to be distributed theatrically in the United States by Warner Bros. since Pokémon 3: The Movie (2000), and with a PG rating from the MPAA, it is also the first Pokémon film released in the United States not to receive a G rating by the group.[9] Detective Pikachu received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the creature designs and Reynolds' performance, but criticized the plot as being standard.[10][11] The film is the best-reviewed live-action film adaptation of a video game on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received positive grades from audiences polled by CinemaScore and PostTrak.
